Mediation Brief: This is a brief for a mediation in a personal

walking down the sidewalk when defendant backed out of a driveway and
hit her. The mediator in this case was Judge McAdams of the Santa Cruz
Superior Court. Prior to the mediation, the best offer from the defense
was $8,000.00. The case settled at mediation for $14,500.00.

in a personal injury case. I represented the plaintiff who was injured
in a rear end car accident. He developed a ringing in his ear: he had
$1,022.00 in medical specials. The arbitrator was a defense attorney,
Nancy Battel, from the firm Gasset, Perry and Frank. Defendant's last
offer to settle this case was for $4,000.00. Ms. Battel found in favor
of the plaintiff for $25,000.00.

Trial/Evidence Brief: In this case, I represented plaintiff
Mortensen. Ms. Mortensen was knocked over by an automatic door at Dominican
Hospital. This is a trial brief concerning the admissibility of crucial
evidence at her trial in Santa Cruz Superior Court before Judge Stevens.
After Judge Stevens read the brief, he admitted the evidence. At the close
of the plaintiff's case, Judge Stevens said that he felt that the Dominican
had lost and that they should settle. Defendants made a good offer and
the case settled. Plaintiff agreed to keep the terms of this settlement
confidential.
